What I'm Reading

Did not expect a book about training a bird to give me, as the kids say, "all the feels" but Helen Macdonald writes about birds like they're dogs and about people like they're isolated deserts of loneliness and when the two meet, it's everything. A gorgeous book, even if you're not as into nature writing as I am. Difficult to read though if you've lost a parent because it is all about the mourning period and coming out on the other side. I am about to buy her second book about birds because suddenly all I want to read is Helen Macdonald writing about the birds in her life. #bookstagram #mrmbookclub #121in2021 #helenmacdonald #hisforhawk
