Emmet and Me Virtual Event

I’m absolutely delighted to share details today of an exciting online event for my new novel, ‘Emmet and Me’

On Thursday, 10th June at 7.30 p.m. I’ll be chatting to wonderful Irish book blogger, Mairéad Hearne, of Swirl and Thread

The evening, arranged by Honno Press, will be hosted by indie bookshop, Palas Print, of Caernarfon

Mairéad and I will be discussing the setting of ‘Emmet and Me’ in 1960s Ireland, the cruelty of life in Irish industrial schools and that system’s lasting legacy.

We’ll be talking about what inspired the novel, about creating fiction from real life and seeing the world through the eyes of child-narrators. And we’ll reflect on changes in Ireland in the last 50 years.

Mairéad’s book blog, Swirl and Thread, is hugely popular. Having established the site in 2016, she’s developed relationships with many authors, publishers and fellow book bloggers from across the globe.

Mairéad has been a guest at the annual Irish Book Awards, taken part in Cork World Book Festival, and she chats about books on her local radio station, 96FM, in Cork.

Join Mairéad and myself on Thursday, 10th June as we discuss my latest novel, ‘Emmet and Me’

Tickets available from Palas Print

Thank you for reading, and hope to see you on Thursday, 10th June!
