The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one, but still they come... and I'll be there to watch!
Today was a day of minor madness. I have a stack of bills waiting to be paid, so what did I do instead? I bought some expensive tickets to the new version of Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds, and I've got to tell you, I don't regret it in the slightest. I was lucky enough to see an earlier incarnation of the show a couple of years ago and it blew my mind. Don't get me wrong, I think Liam Neeson is a first rate actor, but for me, Richard Burton's performance was definitive, and the show won't be the same without him. Everything else, I'm sure I will love. There's nothing quite like the sight of a Martian Fighting Machine live on stage.
