May blog posting

Thanks for making it through to this page and my apologies for not having posted more often. However life has been very difficult on a personal level – and so everything connected with my writing has taken a big knock. But let us not dwell on this and instead look at things positive.

The latest news is that The Ghost Moth The Ghost Moth (The Red Grouse Tales) by Leslie Garland has been selected as a Finalist for The Book Excellence Awards, which, as I am sure you can imagine, I am rather pleased about. Of course this also confirms all the 5 star ratings and reviews here on Goodreads. So I offer a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed to this.

And of new tales? As I mentioned in my last posting, I have made a start on a trilogy and the first few chapters of both The Tunnel and The Road are now drafted. This trilogy (the third story will be The Bridge) will be a homage to and draws on Dante’s Divine Comedy. For those of you who don’t know this work, there are three books; Inferno (Hell), Purgatorio (Purgatory) and Paradiso (Heaven), in which Dante, accompanied variously by Virgil and Beatrice, visits all three. The writing style is not dissimilar to that of Shakespeare or Milton, being poetic in nature. My stories will, I hope, be a modern take on these stories, though, rest assured, they will most definitely not be written as poems!

And of existing tales? There are now seven different tales and all of them are available for free on Kindle Unlimited. And may I suggest, it is not always good to follow the crowd. If you are wanting something different, why not try a tale which is not so popular -all the tales are written by the guy after all!
