Was Shirley Williams a Hypocrite about Education?

Last week the Spectator published a letter defending the late Shirley Williams from this attack by Rod Liddle https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/how-i-ll-remember-shirley-williams   He had (as it happened) got a bit mixed up about her arrangements for the education of her daughter Rebecca.  

The letter was from her son in-law,  Stephen Agar, and ran:
