Why does *Anyone* prefer modern Bible texts to those of the 16th and 17th centuries?

There���s a lot that could be said about Prince Philip���s funeral last Saturday, which for the moment I feel it better not to say, as it might be seen as an intrusion on a very private occasion.

But I was struck by one aspect of it which I felt it was reasonable to comment on.
