Many children's books that have been adapted for film have been recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Hugo based on The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick and War Horse adapted from the children's novel by Michael Morpurgo have both been nominated for Best Picture.
