Don’t Do What You Want

“What do I want?” is a question I have been asking to myself daily.

But you know what? It got tricky, because sometimes what I think I want isn’t the best thing for me.

So here’s the better question;

“What do I need?”

This morning my old subconscious programming, “old tapes” started to play. I didn’t want to go through my morning routine and do my workout.

When I asked myself if I want to do my workout the answer was “No” and seemed so real.

Then I asked myself better question “What do I need?”

The answer was obvious. I needed to do that workout because I would have felt so much better afterward. And so it happened.

But if the same thing happened on my period my need would have been to relax and lay down.

It’s all about listening to ourselves and our bodies and also being able to differentiate our wants from needs.

“Wants” can get tricky but “Needs” don’t lie.
