And then there were none: Padres finally notch no-hitter

For the first time in San Diego Padres franchise history dating back to the club’s inception in 1969, the Padres have thrown a no-hitter.

Joe Musgrove maintained a zero in the H column for nine innings Tuesday for a 3-0 win at Globe Life Field. The Padres had gone 8,205 regular-season games with no no-no, exceeding the Mets’ record for no-hit futility (8,019 games) by 186 games.

Musgrove struck out 10 and walked none, missing out on a perfect game by hitting Joey Gallo with a pitch.
