Ray Charles Live Is The Reason I Moved
I don't believe I have ever told this story before.It is why I moved toCaliforniain the first place.It all started when one of my friends moved toCaliforniaduring the late 1980s.For a couple of years he would always send me the sameChristmas Card.Santa sitting on the beach with an umbrella drink in his hands.So one summer I decided to go to theSunshine Stateto visit my friend.As soon as I got inand he pick me up at the airport,he kept saying,"I have a surprise for you."He wouldn't tell what it was until the day came to go seeRay Charleslive at a small club inSan Diego.
It was fantastic!I figured if you could a big star likeRay Charlesat a small club,this is the place for me.I love musicand I love all kinds of music.The tickets were pretty expensive at the time though.I believe,if my memory serves me correctly,they were $30 per person for a seat at a tableand you had to order foodand drinks before the show started.After moving here I got to see a lot of bands doing the club circuit until theCasinostook that over.Now it will cost you an average$100 dollars per person to see a good band!
