That would be unthinkable "in my country". (blah) "Deficit because of welfare spending". Is that the story they're going with? We have a deficit as well. Money is actually being spent on welfare here. But that isn't the only reason for the deficit.

Well, the conservative propaganda is that "spending needs to be controlled". By this, they mean spending on welfare, education, health care, programs supporting women and children. Not the military. The U.S. spends more money on the military than ALL THE OTHER COUNTRIES ON EARTH COMBINED. This is why we're going to have to go to war with Iran pretty soon. I mean, we are ALWAYS at war in America. When was the last time we weren't at war? Can anyone remember? Anyway, the war with Iran should keep us busy until the 2020s, when we'll go to war with China or a re-emerging Russia. America is pretty much booked as far as killing people goes clear until the middle of the century.
