Shawn Colvin to the rescue…

This week’s edition of Donald Glenn’s Songs for Sunday features the amazing voice and guitar playing of Shawn Colvin. I put Sunny Came Home at the top of the list because how could you have a Shawn Colvin list and not put Sunny Came Home at the top. But the one I’m really excited about is Colvin’s cover of the Paul Simon classic American Tune. It seems like the perfect song for how we’re all feeling right now, and that’s impossible because Simon wrote it in 1973 and Colvin released her version in 2015. Still, it’s perfect enough for the time to feel like a rescue. It isn’t, but it feels like one. Have a listen and see what you think.
