Rock My Stars snippet

“You want a beer?” Danny asked.

“Not until noon. I’m not an animal,” she said, and they shared a laugh. Liz just kind of tilted her head at them.
They went to check out the first band, getting ready to start. This festival had three stages. The two smaller ones rotated smaller bands, and later the big stage would start with the main headliners. Black April was one of those small local bands they had seen before, and she blogged about them. Someone invited them onto the festival scene, which she was happy about seeing them again.

Their crowd was building, but they managed to get in close to the gate separating them from the stage. The band started hard. Tabby watched as the crowd reacted to the music. Metal horns raised in the crowd, a mosh pit started, and the band rocked on.

Halfway through their set Walt nudged her, motioning at the stairs going to the stage. There stood Spencer and Jimmy. She eyed him, never seeing him this close in person. Maybe it was her, but he looked way hotter in person than he had on-screen and far away. He had on a white V-neck shirt that clung to his muscular arms and chest making her sigh and think dirty thoughts as her eyes traveled down his body. If she only got one chance to check him out, she was going all for it. His black pants were holey in the right spots and clung to the other spots just right. Her body heated up as she couldn’t help but want to see him naked.

“Stop drooling. Want me to get his attention?” Walt shouted in her ear.

“NO! I wouldn’t know what to say. I can’t be just standing there looking stupid and drooling like a warthog.”

The band ended a song. “Yo, Spencer!” Danny shouted as the crowd around us cheered and called out. “My friend likes you!”

“Danny!” She said, horrified, feeling her face heat up, and hid behind Walt. “Asshole.”

“I don’t think he noticed,” Walt said, pulling her from behind him.

The singer of Black April, Will’s voice, came over the speakers. “You guys have been great in welcoming us to start off this awesome festival. I do have to throw props to Tabby,” he said, pointing to her. She felt her face heat up. “Who did a great write-up about our concert and the new album dropping next week.” The band all gave her a small bow which drove the crowd crazy. She threw the group horns and was pretty sure her cheeks matched the red of her hair. It was one thing to be noticed by readers, but to be called out by a band is too much. She didn’t do the blog to be noticed. She did the blog to chat about the great bands she went and saw.

The band started in on their last song, which happened to be her favorite song off their new album, and it rocked live. Great way to start the festival with some angry screaming. They cheered with the crowd when it ended. She happened to glance at Spencer and Will chatting. Walt wanted a beer, so they started to leave.

“Tabby!” Will called over, walking to the gate.

“Hey, Will, great start. I saw you talking to Spencer and Jimmy.” She looked past his shoulder and saw Spencer look at her. His eyes were a beautiful gray. He had dark brown stubble that matched his unruly hair. He smiled and gave her a wink. No, that just did not happen. She might have blanked out for a second. She looked around to see maybe it was someone else.

“Yeah, they would like to talk to us about doing a winter tour.”

“That is pretty awesome.” They fist-bumped, and she pulled her phone out. “You mind?”

“Nope,” he said, and he wrapped his arm around her shoulder as she snapped a selfie. They said bye, and she walked over to Walt.

“Did you see that?” She asked him as they left. “I think Spencer totally winked at me.”

“Nope, sorry, I was looking at the girl who did a somersault over there. She had no panties. Do not tell my wife.”

“You know I got your back.” she thumped him on the back. “let’s go get that beer, big guy.”

“Danny, you see the somersault?”

“Who could miss it,” Liz said, not humored. Almost made Tabby wish she’d seen it but then would have missed the wink. Maybe he was winking at someone else. But wait, he was looking at her. Wasn’t he?

I am hoping to release it this summer. *fingers crossed* Will talk more about it when I finish it.
