The juice is worth the squeeze, we’re told, the destination worth the journey there. We hear these repeated ad nauseam, drilled into brain like mantra, like record broken and skipping. In the middle of the squeezing, in the center of the exhaustion from legs that just keep walking, one foot after another, we forget. We lose sight of the point, from time to time, watch it float like featherweight up and out, out and off and beyond our reach, we forget and so we sometimes stop. I am here, whispering out through simple words on some simple morning, to remind you again, to drill again that it’s worth it, it’s always been worth it, and Churchill nailed it when he said “If you’re going through hell, keep going.”

Fact is folks, it’ll be hell from time to time, I know this to be true and deep down, even if you try to avoid it, you do too. We gotta keep going, we gotta keep walking forward, head down into the wind, until we come out the other side. We’ll be disheveled, we’ll be worn out and exhausted in brand new ways, but we’ll be on the other side dammit, and that makes all the difference.

To say I’ve been through hell, lonely and miserable, is an understatement, for I have, and I kept going. All I am, all I have, all I cherish, came because I kept going, because I put my head down and pushed through. I kept going and I know now, I’d do it again.

Worth all the waiting,
all the heartache and sorrow.
I’d do it again.
