Sure Would Be Something

It sure would be something to have somebody stay,
When I could be more than a passing moment for them.
If I could just be enough for them to not walk away.

I know I’m too much for even feeling this way,
But I’ve been lonely, and empty, and then some.
It sure would be something to have somebody stay.

It’s not that I’m alone; not really. I just hope someday
I’ll have someone who’s excited for me to come home.
