That’s how these things get started. At first, there’s a sense of delight. “Oh, somebody brought donuts!” Somewhere along the line, questions arise. “Why is that one covered in purple fur? Why is this one pulsing and oozing green slime? Why did that one make Linda grow antlers?”
This is just the beginning. Soon, it’s going to get weird. I mean, aliens-robots-flying car-clones kind of weird. It’s not like you weren’t warned. There were signs. I’m talking about the one across the wall of the donut shop that read, “Deeply Disturbed Donuts.” That should have been a clue. There was also the one that simply said, “Go Away.” Didn’t heed that one, did you?
That’s okay. In time, most of the effects will wear off. Once they do and you’re back to having only one head, I’ve got something for you.
Deeply Disturbed Donuts is a soon to be released novella that tells the story of a couple of boys who ventured into that donut shop. Perhaps reading their story will remind you to let someone from Accounting sample the donuts first.
You’re welcome.
