Hello world!

Lesbians are strikingly different then Gay men. In a general stereotype, Lesbians are butch and Gay men are feminine. This is ironic, and almost seems to be an over compensation of their natural sex. I will be the first to tell you: a jeep wrangler driving, Home Depot frequenting, beer drinking Lesbian can be just as macho as any straight man I have ever been around in my life. Lesbians by generalization, are macho, and almost seemingly have testosterone flowing through their veins as it almost overcompensates for their natural born femininity. Lesbians, contrary to popular beliefs, do not predominantly mesh and mingle with Gay men. Lesbians have their own bars, clubs, social scenes and gathering spots. It's not a hate fest or anything on that level between Gay men and Lesbians, but more so an acknowledgment of each other's presence with a working, separate existence. Both have the ability to coexist independently, like oil and water, Lesbians and Gay men float well together while remaining separate.

Gay men and women each have subcultures within the lesbian and Gay male world. Gay subcultures are not well known outside the Gay communities and Gay life. These subcultures can be the single most important and easiest way to identify with a Gay person. Subcultures cross all spectrums and are generalized brackets based on social scenes, personal interests, mannerisms and similarities that exist between others within the same subculture.
