Jocelyn Michel stops by to discuss Forbidden Love and her Assassins in Lace Erotica Series

Recently, I had the pleasure of having author Jocelyn Michel drop in to discuss Forbidden Love.  In the spirit of St. Valentine's week, I'm sharing my visit with you, and hope  you find the time to check out Jocelyn's website and exciting series.

When I look at my shelves at the books I keep forever and the DVDs I actually buy, I realize that one particular theme runs throughout: forbidden love.  We read it in new books.  Think Twilight (teen human/109 year old vamp), Harry Potter (wizard/best friend's sister), and the Sookie Stackhouse stories (human/vamp, human/shapeshifter).  We read it in old books, too.  Think Jane Eyre (governess/employer) and Gone With the Wind (southern belle/rogue).  As for movies, oh my.  The list is really long, with some of my personal favorites being The Order (priest/psychotic woman who adores him), The Jacket (beleaguered war vet/young woman from the future), and Underworld (sexy vamp/hunky hybrid vamp-were).

I guess that's why I tackled the theme in my Assassins in Lace erotica series, currently in release by Changeling Press. Since vampires and werewolves are natural enemies, the thought of them defying tradition and the odds to hook up really intrigued me.   I'd actually gotten a taste of this type of romance when I wrote Charisma, a short read for the All Romance Ebooks Just One Bite contest.  It was so much fun, I decided to write some others in the same vein.  The result? Short, sexy reads with a hint of humor.

Assassins in Lace 1: Impressions

Vampire Chantel Mathis, aka Karma, is an assassin who always gets her werewolf. Tonight she's posing as an interior decorator applying for a position at Aubrey Enterprises. Her interviewer and mark is Ren Aubrey, the delectable CEO and owner. Though Ren plays the role of savvy businessman to perfection, Karma knows there's more there than meets the eye. This werewolf is really an assassin so deadly that the vamps have nicknamed him Slayer.

What Karma doesn't know is that Ren is exactly her type. Worse, he's onto her. So the moment he steps into the room, she struggles not only to keep her wits about her, but to keep her distance. It doesn't help that Ren is every bit as beguiled and perfectly willing for their business relationship to be much more. Will Karma be able to resist Slayer's many charms? Or will their night of passion turn deadly?Assassins in Lace 2: Scents

In the second book, Scents, Vampire Sasha runs a fragrance industry by day and stalks Weres by night.  Tripp Stefano, a werewolf notorious for how many vampires he's killed, has been particularly hard to snuff.  What Sasha doesn't know is that sexy Tripp actually works as a handyman in her company's maintenance department under the name Trey.  And the first step to taking her down is sabotaging every gizmo she owns so she'll open up her penthouse office suite to him.

            Assassins in Lace 3: Blackout

Blackout  is about deadly enemies, vampire Mali and werewolf Dante, who are stuck together in a bank vault during a city-wide power outage.  Since the Mali is an assassin with a lot of wolf notches on her designer belt, she should make the most of happenstance to take down her unwitting companion.  Unfortunately, Dante is not only just her type, but just as attracted, so things don't work out exactly as they should for either of them.

Book 4, Inferno, is available exclusively at  http://changelingpress.com/product.php?&upt=book&ubid=1653

Vamp assassin Bianca almost gets her wolf, Raffe, late one night, but he escapes even though he's wounded.  The next day she is awakened by fire alarms warningthat her high-rise apartment building is in flames.  A handsome fireman–the wolf who got away–rescues her just in time.  Grateful, but unable and unwilling to live and let live, she decides to give him a night of pleasure before she does him in.  Big mistake.
