I take, on average, one writing craft workshop a month.

This surprises some newer writers. I’ve been published for wellover a decade, have been writing since I could hold a pencil, have hit the USAToday Bestseller List a few times.

Why would I continue to take craft courses?

I do this because skills can always be improved and I findit fun to add to the tools in my writer toolbox. I think readers deserve thebest d@mn stories I can produce. Some stories can only be told using certainskills, skills I might not yet have.

And these courses are food for my muse. It excites me tohear how other writers tackles issues, how they think differently than I do. Itdraws me out of my own head, allows me to see problems from a different angle.

If the workshop host offers a critique (Angela Knight oftendoes this with the workshops she gives), I always submit a sample of the storyI’m currently working on. Getting a new perspective on it is often priceless. Thefeedback strengthens the entire story.

I whole-heartedly recommend writers continue to takeworkshops. Every writer is different. The workshops might not benefit you asthey benefit me. But it is worth a try.

Malice, a C Model cyborg, has spent his long lifespan enslaved by the Humanoid Alliance. His cruel manufacturers have hurt him in all the ways a male could be hurt.

The being she has damaged the most is also the cyborg she fiercely desires— Malice, a huge, gray-skinned, blue-eyed C Model with massive hands and a voice deeper than space. He hates her, has good reason to do so, and, when he’s freed, there’s a high probability he’ll kill her.

Illona will take that risk to ensure he survives.
