A short book of four short stories I edited last fall will be a free download from Amazon tomorrow and the next day:
Where all my mages at? Tales of Haydon, yo!
Yes, I edited this bad boy, so I'm a little biased, but I mean it—it's a fun read. Especially if you grew up with high fantasy, like I did.
The author is my husband, and I avow to ye, solemnly, my liege: the man loves the genre, and he's only looking for feedback. No evil spells shall be cast upon ye, this be neither trickery nor other…hogwashery (?) *Ahem* (Now you see why I don't write high fantasy.)
So if you like short stories, won't you download it and give it a read?
As soon as his exclusivity with Amazon is over, he'll put it up for free again on Smashwords in all ereader formats.
If you *have* read it, won't you support this fledgling writer with a little feedback? The Goodreads page, the Amazon page, an email to him, whatever. He would really appreciate it. He still hasn't gotten the hang of blogging and tweeting and Facebooking and all that, so you might not realize it, but he really does care what readers think, whether good, bad, or indifferent.
Tales of Haydon is a collection of four related stories that he wrote as backstory for characters in his novel. Tim went deep with this project. Like, Tolkien-deep. He could probably harvest a video game and a movie from all his notes. But I get that. I did something like that with my first book, too.
Yes, there is a Haydon novel that he's been neglecting forever, and I'd personally love to see him finish it and put it out there. It's a good story. If you like Game of Thrones' "detective story" elements, I think you'll like the adventure mage Alturis has.
I think. We won't know for sure until we know, will we? Until then, let's read these short stories and see what we think, shall we?
Tales of Haydon stars a child mage, a prince, a shape-shifting girl, and a host of other characters. You'll laugh and you'll cry, and it's only 64 pages.
Did I mention it is FREE?
