136 Years And Counting....

No, this is not a furry foot rest. Or a hat. Or an ewok. It's Malachy, a Pekingese, and the winner of Best in Show at the 136th Westminster Dog Show. For the 136th year, the dachshund group was thwarted in its attempt to win the trophy.
Thwarted by an ewok.
A wire-haired doxie actually WON the hound group. We had a chance! A fighting chance! But this shimmering, shaking ball of fur beat us.
Here is Cinders the weenie dog.....

Cinders gave it all she had, but alas, it just wasn't enough. She wagged her tail throughout the competition and was described as "perky" and "confident."
Next year, maybe she should dress up as an ewok.

I have a feeling......
The 137th Westminster Dog Show is going to be YEAR OF THE WEENIE DOG!
Thinking I should re-watch Return of the Jedi,Penelope

Carolyn I immediately thought of you when that beautiful little wired-hair doxie won the hound group. I was expecting to hear your screams all the way in Gettysburg if she had won. Unfortunately, that walking "tribble" (that is what I thought it looked like, although I can see the resemblance to an ewok) won.

Personally, I was pulling for the Doberman. Actually, the Doberman, Irish Setter, Dalmatian or that gorgeous German Shepard could have won and I would have been happy.

We were NOT happy campers in our home last night. Ah well. I guess the tribble/ewok fit the standard of the tribble/ewok the most. Grumble, grumble.

Penny Watson My neighbor thought it looked like a "tribble" too! hee hee. Actually, I liked this dog when it showed for the toy group. It had a lot of personality. I'm just miffed the doxie lost AGAIN.

There's always next year! :^)
