The Books I Really Want to Read by the End of February

Hello awesome nerds and happy Saturday everyone!

How it is already February 6th, I have no idea! The thing though is that I’m really busy lately and I feel like I’m not reading as much as I want to. Which is why I thought I should mention here the books I really want to finish by the end of this month, just to motivate myself a little bit more.

Plus, this will be a great opportunity for you to discover new book recommendations, especially if your TBR isn’t completely out of control yet. 😅

So, sit back, get your notebook and a pen, and write down some books that will definitely give you all the feels this February!

1. Midnight Sun (Twilight, #5), by Stephenie Meyer

“When Edward Cullen and Bella Swan met in Twilight, an iconic love story was born. But until now, fans have heard only Bella’s side of the story. At last, readers can experience Edward’s version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun.

This unforgettable tale as told through Edward’s eyes takes on a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting Bella is both the most unnerving and intriguing event he has experienced in all his years as a vampire. As we learn more fascinating details about Edward’s past and the complexity of his inner thoughts, we understand why this is the defining struggle of his life. How can he justify following his heart if it means leading Bella into danger?”

I’m already more than halfway through and I really want to finish it by the end of the weekend. So far it gives me all the nostalgic feels and a better understanding of how Edward’s mind works. Yet, I still believe that he was overreacting most of the times, he was a little bit controlling and, maybe, under different circumstances, a little bit toxic.

Nonetheless, I’m not gonna deny that it’s nice to finally read things from his POV. Bella was just… dull compared to how complex thoughts Edward has.

2. A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1), by Deborah Harkness

“A richly inventive novel about a centuries-old vampire, a spellbound witch, and the mysterious manuscript that draws them together.

Deep in the stacks of Oxford’s Bodleian Library, young scholar Diana Bishop unwittingly calls up a bewitched alchemical manuscript in the course of her research. Descended from an old and distinguished line of witches, Diana wants nothing to do with sorcery; so after a furtive glance and a few notes, she banishes the book to the stacks. But her discovery sets a fantastical underworld stirring, and a horde of daemons, witches, and vampires soon descends upon the library. Diana has stumbled upon a coveted treasure lost for centuries-and she is the only creature who can break its spell.

Debut novelist Deborah Harkness has crafted a mesmerizing and addictive read, equal parts history and magic, romance and suspense. Diana is a bold heroine who meets her equal in vampire geneticist Matthew Clairmont, and gradually warms up to him as their alliance deepens into an intimacy that violates age-old taboos. This smart, sophisticated story harks back to the novels of Anne Rice, but it is as contemporary and sensual as the Twilight series-with an extra serving of historical realism.”

I am currently listening to this on audiobook and again, I really want to finish it by the end of this weekend.

The narrator is amazing, I love the fact that the protagonist is closer to my age and it’s a really fun change to see witches and vampires, demons and humans interacting in the real world, having college problems to deal with, but also supernatural obstacles to overcome.

I admit, it was a bit hard at first to keep up with everything, but the audiobook makes things seem easier, so I do believe I’m gonna end up liking this a lot.

3. The Boundless (The Beholder, #2), by Anna Bright

This breathtaking sequel to The Beholder will take you on a journey into a darkly sparkling fairy tale, perfect for fans of The Selection and Caraval.

When Selah found true love with Prince Torden of Norway, she never imagined she’d have to leave him behind. All because the Beholder’s true mission was a secret Selah’s crew didn’t trust her to keep: transporting weapons to the rebels fighting against the brutal tsarytsya, whose shadow looms over their next port of Shvartsval’d. A place Selah hoped she’d never go.

But gone is the girl who departed Potomac filled with fear. With a stockpile of weapons belowdecks and her heart hanging in the balance, Selah is determined to see the Beholder’s quest to its end.”

This book has been patiently waiting for me to pick it up for quite some time now. But, I believe the time has come for me to read it, especially since it’s a romance story and what better month to read a romance story than February, right?

I honestly hope that it’s going to be just as good as The Beholder, if not better. What I know for a fact is that, once again, I’m going to enjoy Anna’s writing style!

4. These Witches Don’t Burn (These Witches Don’t Burn, #1), by Isabel Sterling

“Hannah’s a witch, but not the kind you’re thinking of. She’s the real deal, an Elemental with the power to control fire, earth, water, and air. But even though she lives in Salem, Massachusetts, her magic is a secret she has to keep to herself. If she’s ever caught using it in front of a Reg (read: non-witch), she could lose it. For good. So, Hannah spends most of her time avoiding her ex-girlfriend (and fellow Elemental Witch) Veronica, hanging out with her best friend, and working at the Fly by Night Cauldron selling candles and crystals to tourists, goths, and local Wiccans.

But dealing with her ex is the least of Hannah’s concerns when a terrifying blood ritual interrupts the end-of-school-year bonfire. Evidence of dark magic begins to appear all over Salem, and Hannah’s sure it’s the work of a deadly Blood Witch. The issue is, her coven is less than convinced, forcing Hannah to team up with the last person she wants to see: Veronica.

While the pair attempt to smoke out the Blood Witch at a house party, Hannah meets Morgan, a cute new ballerina in town. But trying to date amid a supernatural crisis is easier said than done, and Hannah will have to test the limits of her power if she’s going to save her coven and get the girl, especially when the attacks on Salem’s witches become deadlier by the day.”

Now, that’s what I’m talking about!

This is probably my typical kind of read, but there’s also diversity and everyday problems and witches in the hometown of witches. So, I truly hope that it’s going to be absolutely PERFECT because I’m so very excited about this!

5. The Unhoneymooners, by Christina Lauren

“Olive is always unlucky: in her career, in love, in…well, everything. Her identical twin sister Ami, on the other hand, is probably the luckiest person in the world. Her meet-cute with her fiancé is something out of a romantic comedy (gag) and she’s managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a series of Internet contests (double gag). Worst of all, she’s forcing Olive to spend the day with her sworn enemy, Ethan, who just happens to be the best man.

Olive braces herself to get through 24 hours of wedding hell before she can return to her comfortable, unlucky life. But when the entire wedding party gets food poisoning from eating bad shellfish, the only people who aren’t affected are Olive and Ethan. And now there’s an all-expenses-paid honeymoon in Hawaii up for grabs.

Putting their mutual hatred aside for the sake of a free vacation, Olive and Ethan head for paradise, determined to avoid each other at all costs. But when Olive runs into her future boss, the little white lie she tells him is suddenly at risk to become a whole lot bigger. She and Ethan now have to pretend to be loving newlyweds, and her luck seems worse than ever. But the weird thing is that she doesn’t mind playing pretend. In fact, she feels kind of… lucky.”

This month, I decided to mix things up a bit and read something I don’t normally read. That is an Adult Romance story, just because a) it’s February and I need something light and slightly cheesy to cheer me up, and b) many of my friends have read this particular book and really liked it.

I have never read a Christina Lauren book before and I do hope that I’m gonna enjoy this one.

Well, frankly, I hope I’m going to enjoy all five of these books. It’s still too early in 2021 to get in a slump.

Have you guys read any of the books mentioned here? How many books are you planning on reading this month? Also, do you have any romance recommendations for me?

I look forward to reading all your comments, thoughts and feelings in the comment section down below.

Thank you all so very much for stopping by once again. It honestly means the world to me and I want you to know that I most certainly don’t take your presence here for granted.

Have a wonderful weekend, dearies. Stay safe and stay positive!

Till next time… Toodles! 💜
