My great hope is that Biden will remove the whisky tariffs, in which case I will be able to buy MORE whisky, but hopefully pay less for it. Then, everyone will be happy!Agreed about quality vs. quantity! I definitely won't ever release a book unless I am happy with it, quality-wise. I think that comes back to the responsibility to my readers thing. And honestly, I want to be improving and tackling new challenges with every book I release. The schedule is there more as the stick in stick v. carrot. I work best when under pressure... but if something doesn't work out, I will definitely defy that schedule to address it.
Interesting feedback about NetGalley! I generally upload PDFs as well as epubs, so it's odd that they wouldn't let readers download those to their computers for reading. My eyesight is bad enough that I'm either reading on my Kindle with font enlarged or directly on my PC as well.
A vast portion of my advance reviews come from NetGalley readers, and I feel that made it worth it for See These Bones and Investigation, Mediation, Vindication. I'm not sure yet whether Red Right Hand's comparatively weak showing on NetGalley (in terms of review numbers, not ratings) was due to it being a sequel or the time of year or something else. I might make one last try with the next John Smith book and then decide after that.

Goal #6 - I can not support that kind of insurrection and we've seen enough of that already in 202... um, 1.

* Although I am without a shadow of a doubt a selfish reader and can't wait for, well, all of these releases, I would stress quality over quantity. A missed target vs. a kick-ass unforgettable book is a no-brainer and when it comes to no brains, I'm your guy.
** Not a fan of NetGalley. In their own words - and yes, I asked - they do not support how I read books (Kindle app on my laptop so I can see the actual words). Unnecessarily complicated and elitist. Just my two cents.
