Happy Valentine's Day!

Today, the Cybils winners are announced, so get ready to show some love for some great books!

It was fun and educational to be a final round judge in Poetry this year. I've been a first-round judge several times before–totally different experiences!

We had lots of lively discussions, and we awarded the prize to Requiem: Poems of the Terezin Ghetto , by Paul B. Janeczko. It's a grim, haunting, stunning poetry collection, one that showcases horror and love in the worst of situations. (I shared a poem from it on a Poetry Friday here.)
