I dont care what form a Nora Roberts' book comes in, I'm going to read it, watch it, get lost in the story! Its about the books!!! Politics should not even be brought into it! I like Alyssa as an actress & i cant wait to see the book on screen!! In this rough time we should all do well to support others!! Im proud to say Ive been a Nora Roberts fan for a long time & i am proud of her accomplishments. Her book is going to be a movie-lets support one helluva author!!!!!

Thank you for speaking out Nora! I've never seen more "hate" spread on social media than i have this last year. I don't think people realize how 'public' their opinions have become, and how it can affect them. I for one look forward to the movie, and i really don't care who is acting in it!! (Though i do like Alyssa as the choice!)
That is so sad! As a reader in Germany, this reminds me of my history lessons at school, and frankly, it frightens me. It's their choice not to like an actress, and yes, it's their right to have an opinion, but - they do not have to be insulting, threatening, and hateful about it. I hope that these people will never come into a situation where they are dependant on other people's tolerance.I am sorry Nora has to go through that, and - not even knowing who the actress is or what she has done to incite such hate - I feel sorry for her, too. Freedom of speech and opinion goes both ways, no?
My question is: Are these comments actually coming from Republicans? Or are they Democrats trying to stir up trouble? And this is coming from an unaffiliated middle of the road person. I have no political party association. And no, I’m not an independent. That has become its own party. What that allows is for me to be totally objective. These are books & movies we’re talking about, not a political issue. I don’t care who stars in it or what their political beliefs may be. It’s about the author & the movie. And I just watched Montana Sky and it was as fantastic as it was when I first read the book and saw the movie! I agree Nora!! Thank you for speaking out!
It's all disappointing, but not surprising. We can only hope that there will be change. I look forward to the movie! Kudos to Nora Roberts and Alyssa Milano!

People have been showing who they really are and it is time we simply take them at their word and believe them. The level of vitriol and hatred is real and so so sad.

I have loved Nora Roberts books since I began reading them maybe 20 years ago. I have never seen any Political Stance in any of them. I do not agree with this cancel culture we are living in; and, being hateful towards her is not acceptable. However, I can understand why some are disappointed in the actress chosen. Conservatives have listened to more than 4 years of how horrible they are, they are nazi's, deplorable, racists, etc. And, the way that Milano behaved during the Justice Kavanaugh hearings was horrible. I understand how some people are just tired of being treated like second class citizens and unfortunately instead of "turning the other cheek" they are striking out and behaving just like those "liberal democrats" have been treating them. Watch, or not watch, read or not read, it is your choice; but, isn't right to take out your anger on Nora. She personally has done nothing to any of you; but, strive her best to entertain. I find unfortunately, that I agree with nothing she stands for politically as I am a Constitutional Conservative; but, she has the same right to her belief as we all have.
Remember when there were things that we didn't talk about because they were just no one else's business? Politics, religion, money, and sex were the biggies.I don't watch the movies adapted from Nora's books. There just is no way for them to capture the complexity, layers, and immersion that the books have. That is the brilliance of the author! I always end a Nora Robert's book a little sad because I've been a part of the lives of the characters and wait eagerly for the next new friends she'll introduce us to.
I don't like the choice of actress. I've never liked her, even before she became politically vocal. So when I see her I just turn the channel. That's the Freedom of Choice.
Personally, I wish Nora hadn't stated her political affiliation. It's none of yours or my business and I am disheartened that ANYONE feels the pressure to disclose this. We base our choices on our life experiences. Each is unique, each valuable. We should respect that - and learn from each other. Shouting over one another doesn't change hearts and minds.
Nora Roberts is an author. She entertains us with her words. To my knowledge she hasn't tried to tell any us how to live, love, or vote. She treats us, her readers with respect.
Read her or don't. Watch the movies or don't. You choose, and respect my choice to do the same.
Hatred and vileness are destructive forces - in your heart, your life and our country.
Choose wisely who you'll be going forward.
