Book Review of "When Force Meets Fate" by Jamison Hill #WhenForceMeetsFate #NetGalley #Memoir #Medical

Parental note: There are traumatic events, medical terminology, adult language, as well as some sexually intimate moments.
Genres and my rating: Autobiography - Memoir - New Adult - Medical - 5 stars
Brief synopsis: During college, Jamison's focus was on fitness training. Two life-altering events pushed his goals to the side. One, an accident and the second a chronic debilitating disorder known as CFS/ME. It was one that his doctors had a difficult time diagnosing and treating.
My take as a reader: My professional background includes being a Certified Coding Specialist. That means I'm familiar with a variety of disorders from an administrative perspective (as opposed to clinical one as a nurse or doctor). That being said, Mr. Hill's book taught me lots of things that I did not know before. I have a new-found respect for people with this disorder.
My take as an author: Memories are difficult to recapture, let alone putting them in the form of a book. What Mr Hill went through to put this book together was impressive. In some ways, the book put me in mind of Helen Keller's The Story of My Life . I think I read that when I was a teenager and I might have to re-read it in the future.
As it often does, life went on and Mr. Hill continues to share his journey with others. I've come to believe that he does this so that people with the same condition as his will know they are not alone.
