The most recent ALCATRAZ VERSUS THE EVIL LIBRARIANS annotation talks about why I shifted the book from third person to first person. My assistant has also uploaded the third person versions of the first two chapters, which you can compare with the published versions.

Sarah I am longtime fan of your books, but I am starting to get suspicious. How much can you actually write in one year? I am starting to think you are a robot. Or perhaps you have cloned yourself. Something fishy is going on. Clearly. ;)

Rose Definitely works better in Alcatraz's own words! Scary as it is sometimes, his mind is a fun place for the reader to be. We are all fans of that series in our house--hopefully someday we can read the last book.
