I'm not the world's biggest Wolverine fan anymore…I think what made me like the character was his unpredictability and they long ago overexposed that. I still like the IDEA of him, and I am sure I'm missing a ton of great stories, but I see him and realize he's just not my cup of tea at this point (I know, I keep hearing his new X-men book is great, just haven't read it yet).

So it was a little weird, when we were putting together the Villains United Secret Six, that after finally picking the six personalities that I thought would be the coolest, we had THREE characters with claws.

That felt very odd…like the glut of Deadpool books and appearances of a couple years ago. It felt a bit pander-y, even though Wolverine himself was never on my mind (as I was well into my ennui for the character and had been for years).

So I always thought the thing to do would be to face it head on and have Cheshire, Scandal and Catman claw each other up in a battle royale.  Unfortunately, we didn't get to do that before Cheshire left the team, but I'm always kind of sad we didn't at LEAST get to see something like the above scene.

Also, this is a really nice piece of art…Scandal in particular looks fantastic!
