Frost on the Windshield

This morning before we left for church, our car windshield was covered in frost. My husband got out to clear it, while I dug in my purse for lipstick. When he got in and put the car in drive, I looked up and noticed what he had done. His side was clear, but my side had a heart cleared out of the frost. I thought it was a sweet gesture, but I had a hard time seeing where we were going. And it got me to thinking…

All of us are generally unsure as to what the future holds. We aren't blind or ignoring the signs, it's just that it's a little cloudy. The Driver of this universe has perfect clarity on what tomorrow holds. In fact, He's already written it. As a passenger, I can trust that the Driver knows where He is taking me. He will get me safely there. And the journey is for my good and His glory. Gradually as the sun warmed the glass I could see more and more until my vision was clear.

Believer, let me encourage you today to walk closely with God and study His word. When we look at things we don't understand with a Biblical worldview, our fears are calmed and our concerns are minimized. God is truly in control. Don't take the wheel and don't drive from the backseat.

God’s heart was revealed in the sacrificial death of His Son, Jesus. When we focus on this – His great love and mercy – we see clearly. He gave His Son to make a way for us to have a relationship with Him.

That handbook, the Holy Bible, contains everything we need to know in order to live our lives for Him. Everything else will be revealed in due time. Trust the One who wrote it to get you through it all, and safely Home.

“For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I also have been fully known.” 1 Corinthians 13:12

“…behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matt 28:20b
