What Makes People Resilient
In difficult times like we are in right now, it is important to be mentally stable and strong most of the time. Nobody is perfect and everybody has times when we feel overwhelmed, but it is important to keep in mind that “this too shall pass.” Part of being able to come out stronger after difficult experiences is to have mental resilience. It is defined as an ability to adapt to very difficult situations and being able to function despite significant adversity or trauma. The strong emotions like anger, grief or pain will still be there, but the mentally resilient person will be able to function relatively well in everyday life most of the time. However, some people are more resilient that others. Below are several factors that usually make people resilient.
YOU MAYBE MORE RESILIENT THAN OTHERS IF:
You like yourself.
You believe that everything in life will eventually turn OK.
You are able to see every situation from different perspectives.
Sometimes you have to do things you do not like, but you believe that you have to do them and have no problems doing them.
You are not ashamed of your emotions.
You have had a few failures in your life, but you are proud how you have dealt with them.
You believe that everything in life has meaning, we only have to see it.
Not everybody likes you, but you are OK with it.
