This is an 11 minutes long documentary by film maker Holly McClellan. It's about, as the title suggests, Finn's law, which is a law that aims to protect police dogs, and other service animals in Britain. It also deals in a broader sense with animal abuse in general. A large part of this short film centers around the police dog Finn, and his handler, PC Dave Wardell. Wardell tells the story of their relationship, their work, and the attack on Wardell and Finn, that lead to this law being passed.
Animals like Finn are amazing. I don't think I can put it any other way. What they can do is really something. I remember seeing the two, Wardell and Finn, for the first time on the TV show Britain's Got Talent, and their performance there was a lot of fun. The way they work together was just a joy to watch, but their backstory was presented there as well. This film shows that a bit better than it had been done on the TV show. So even though there isn't anything very new here, I liked watching it. It's obviously a short film, and it is mostly based on two interviews, so the scope of it is of course quite limited, but it tells the story it sets out to tell well.
