And now let's chat with Linore Burkard, author of the traditional (sweet and clean) Regency romance, Miss Tavistock’s Mistake : The Brides of Mayfair, Book One (Lilliput Press, June 2020).
Linore Rose Burkard is a serious watcher of period films, a Janeite, and hopeless romantic. An award-winning author best known for Inspirational Regency Romance, her first book opened the genre for the CBA. 
Besides historical romance, Linore writes contemporary suspense (The Pulse Effex Series, as L.R. Burkard), contemporary romance (Falling In), and romantic short stories.
Please tell us one random thing we might not know about you.

I like making homemade versions of things, from laundry detergent and toothpaste to cheese.

Well, you've probably kept yourself busy during the lockdown, then! What a convenient talent for these times. 
Please tell us a bit more about the plot of Miss Tavistock's Mistake.

The story hinges on mistaken identity and misunderstandings, which, although it may sound familiar, has unique twists. Miss Tavistock is very young, lovable, and gets caught in her own web (the “mistake” the title refers to). 
As she and the hero, Captain Rempeare, are thrown together and get to know each other, romance blossoms, but the web thickens—rather humorously—until it seems there is no escape. 
The story question is, how can she undo her mistake without losing the love of the honorable hero?

What is it about Miss Tavistock that will make your readers care about her?

She’s forthright and wears her heart on her sleeve to a humorous level. When the book opens, she’s a child who has just lost her parents. Readers empathize with her quickly.

The year 2020 was a rough one for most of us. What do you think God wants you to focus on in 2021?

Finding my peace and rest in Him. The more the world disappoints us, the more we are reminded that we’re just pilgrims passing through. But digging deep into the Word is the only way, in my experience, to find that promised peace. It’s not incidental. It can’t be manufactured. It comes from God as we soak in His Word, and so that’s where I need to focus.

I so agree. I find myself worrying about the future quite a lot these days, more for my kids and grandkids than for myself. But God is in control, and He provides peace during those times of worry. He has a plan and loves us, so we do need to lean on Him and His Word.
What is the last novel you read that you would recommend?

Something New , by P.G. Wodehouse. I loved the humor, much of it tongue-in-cheek, as well as the wonderful, easy descriptions of characters. Wodehouse captures people with all their eccentricities—he loves to capture eccentrics—and it makes for very funny reading. He always manages to get a sweet, light love story in the mix of satire, comedy, and manners. Right now I’m reading his complete works.

I'm a big Wodehouse fan too--a bit like Oscar Wilde in his humor and ability to poke fun at the upper class of his time.
