Boxing Day/Reading Day

Today is Boxing Day here in Canada. In the Before Times, it was a day for awesome sales and great shopping (the equivalent of Black Friday in the US). Stores were clearing out unsold holiday merchandise and it was a great day to pick up a bargain.

In my family, when I was young, Boxing Day was a reading day. Many of us received new or new-to-me or borrowed-from-the-library-as-a-surprise books. On Boxing Days in the past, we snuggled under blankets and read until our eyes ached. (grin)

Today, I plan to do the same thing…once we clear the snow (or exercise in the outdoor gym as the Dear Wonderful Hubby calls it). We’re on lockdown in our section of the universe and I have a stack of new-to-me romance novels calling my name.
