Month O'Love day 7 with C.R. Moss

Today the charismatic C.R. Moss has agreed to stop by and tell us a bit about herself, and her latest release from Decadent Publishing, Sunset Desires.

1. Can you tell us a bit about your latest story?

My latest story, just recently released through Decadent Publishing (www.decadentpublishing.com), is called Sunset Desires. It's a part of Decadent's One Night Stand series and the first of four stories I have planned for DP and the 1NS series. The second book, Sunset Seduction, has been contracted and the other two still need to be written, but for now here's the blurb on Sunset Desires ~

A blind date. A hot tropical evening. She'll be someone he can't forget. He'll fulfill her ultimate fantasy.

Gwendolyn Tramonto is stunned to learn her cousin set her up with sex on the beach and it's not the drink. But after a several year dry spell of no relationships, no dates…no sex, Gwen decides to take her cousin up on her offer and go out on the blind date. For once, she'd like to indulge in a fantasy, be wined and dined instead of the other way around, and if she and the man ended up in bed together, that would be a nice bonus.

Evan Cadell is looking forward to the date his uncle arranged for him through an exclusive matchmaking service and taking a one night break from work, life and all its demands. From Gwen's profile, Evan knows what her fantasy is and believes he's the man who can make it come true.

But will one night in paradise be enough to satisfy their desires?

Sunset Seduction follows Gwen's cousin, Heather, and her date in a hotel room in Las Vegas.

2. What books have influenced your life the most?

The early works of Stephen King, like The Shining, Pet Sematary, Carrie and Christine, turned me on to writing and started me on writing horror and then in the early 90's I read Jude Deveraux's A Knight in Shining Armor which started me on romances and romance writing.

3. When you're not writing what are you doing?

I watch movies and television. I'll read. I'll crochet. Sometimes I'll play some on-line computer games. On the weekend nights we'll have people over to play cards/board games. On occasion I can be found out drinking with friends.

4. Chocolate or vanilla?

Chocolate all the way and the darker the better.

5. What inspires you?

Music has been known to inspire stories for me. I'll catch a line of lyric and it gets my mind going. Same with dialogue on television or between people in conversations I hear. News articles are known to get my creative juices going too.

6. Are you a pantser or a plotter?

I'd say I'm a combination of the two. When I have an idea for a story and my muse is chomping at the bit for me to write it, I'll do what's called an information dump where I'll outline the story through brief descriptions of scenes or dialogue or a combination of them. It's like a pre-first draft. Then I'll work off that draft while keeping my mind open and being flexible to any changes that might crop up. To say that's plotting just seems too rigid to me.

7. What's the best part of being a published author?

I can be my own boss and set my own hours. If I want to work during the day I can. If I want to work late at night into the wee hours of the morning I can. & I can work in my jammies and not have to worry about a bad hair day!

8. If one of your books was turned into a movie which actors would you pick to portray them?

For this question, I'm going to answer using Wild West Weekend, a contemporary erotic romance with cowboys story written with RM Sotera and available through Evernight Publishing (www.evernightpublishing.com). When we were writing the story we had particular people in mind that we based the characters' looks off of, except we liked how they looked in a particular year. That's why I included the dates, so if we were going to have the perfect cast we'd have to do some time traveling ;) . Dakota Dougan = Rib Hillis (circa 2008). Catherine "Cassie" Harding = Vail Bloom (dark haired version; circa 2010). Damon Dougan = Keith Urban (circa 2002). Bristol Ashcombe = Sarah Brightman (circa 1990's). Marianne Star = Mischa Barton (blonde haired version; circa 2005). Miguel Garza = Eduardo Verastegui (circa 2006). Kent = Sam Elliott (circa 1980's). Hugh = Ben Mortley (circa 2008). Jake = Garrett Hedlund (circa 2005; long blond haired version). There will be some new characters in our next book, Wild West Hauntings – currently a WIP – two of them so far are: Marianne's sister, Rachel Star = Mila Kunis (circa 2007). & Dalton Dougan = Cameron Mathison (circa 2007).

9. Do you write to music? If so can you share a brief playlist ?

It depends upon what I'm writing. The original version of Wild West Weekend was written to a lot of alternative music but then when I joined with RM on it & re-worked my part of the book I listened to a lot of male sung country music. For Sunset Desires, I listened to Flamenco and Latin. Sometimes though I'll just listen to spa/new age music so there aren't any lyrics getting in my way.

10. What are you working on next?

I'm currently working on the next Wild West book and the next Sunset book. I'm also in the process of formatting a story called Tracked for release under my other pen name, Casey Moss.
