Dear Readers,
Perhaps 2020 can best be described as dichotomous. We can all speak about the sacrificed we’ve made, but we are also invited to reflect on our many blessings. Despite what has happened to us and our loved ones this year, we are still here, with books to read and food to eat, and the environment is healthier. These alone can give us reasons to be happy and celebrate!
For the holidays, I give you the following words of wisdom I received in a Christmas card:
“Rivers do not drink their own water; trees do not eat their own fruit; the sun does not shine on itself; and, flowers do not spread their fragrance for themselves. Living for others is a rule of nature. We are all born to help each other. No matter how difficult it is . . . life is good when you are happy; but, much better when others are happy because of you.” –Pope Francis
So, get a clue, Readers. I wish you peace, joy, health, and happiness in the days ahead. I hope you’ll share your wealth with those in need.
