Year-end lists are complex things for writers — it’s tempting to look at all the ones your book isn’t on and feel sad about it. (There are a nearly infinite number of occasions for writers to feel sad about our books, if we let ourselves.) But the ones our books are on — that’s always something to celebrate! And some are more exciting to celebrate than others.
Kate Quinn is one of my favorite historical fiction authors working today, and I know she reads a whoooooole lot, so seeing THE ARCTIC FURY on her end-of-year list of favorites — which is also a gift guide, and a fun one — was a real treat.

finished the book and it was wonderful. The ending perfect. Love your books, even though not what I really enjoy reading, but like to break off and read yours.
