Aligned to the Sun, Moon, and associated with Sagittarius, juniper is powerful purification herb, that also enhances psychic connection, inspires healing, and helps with grounding as well. Along with purifying rosemary, invigorating ginger, spices like nutmeg and clove along with honey to help heighten spiritual energies and invoke wisdom – this bees knees variation is the ideal for a crisp cocktail for cleansing and spiritual alignment for this eclipse.
Juniper & Jupiter
A crisp, cleansing Bees Knees variation inspired by the Sagittarius new moon and solar eclipse.
Ingredients1 sprig rosemary1 thin slice ginger1 pinch ground nutmeg1 pinch ground clove3/4 ounce honey simple syrup (1:1 parts honey to hot water)3/4 ounce lemon juice4+ drops rosewater1.5 ounces gin
InstructionsIn a cocktail shaker, place ginger, rosemary, spices and honey syrup. Muddle them together, breaking apart the ginger, feeling any personal barriers falling away as you do. Then add gin, lemon, rosewater, and if you wish – allspice liqueur. Add ice, shake and strain into a coupe glass, and express and adron with lemon peel.
NotesHoney Syrup is equal parts honey to hot water. It makes the honey easier to work with in cocktails, and keeps a level of consistency given that the viscosity of honey can vary from type to type. Simply mix the honey and hot water, and allow to cool before use.
