The Practice of Meditation

The Practice of Meditation
Meditation is the activity of sitting quietly and directing your attention. It is the most effective practice for stress-reduction, relaxation, self-reflection, self-awareness, and generally for maintaining well-being. According to the “guru” of meditation, Dr. Deepak Chopra (2014), meditation allows you to get in touch with your inner self, your consciousness, or your “cosmic self.”
The practice of meditation has a great deal of research that proves its effectiveness. Much research suggests that meditation is at least as effective or can be more effective than medications for many mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, etc. It can also boost your immune system, improve memory, and shrink brain centers associated with anxiety and stress. There is more on meditation and lot's of other brain health tips that I have put in my book to help my readers improve and/or maintain good brain functioning.
