Goodbye Darkness

My father was a WWII Navy veteran, in the Pacific. Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal, and more. He never spoke of it unless asked, and then, very little, saying he saw many die. This book captured for me some of the horror he faced and makes me wonder about the scars it left but he never showed.
