Grey phalarope sighting gets twitchers rushing to Marshside


Phalaropes have an unusual way of feeding. They spin around and around in the water to bring small creatures to the surface, picking up this food without slowing down as they frantically spin.














This is an Arctic-breeding wader that occasionally comes to the coasts of the UK following stormy weather.












Birdwatchers at Marshside were seen flocking to grab a sight of this lovely little bird.
