I wrote in the domed reading room of the state library today. Hard not to be inspired.

I was underneath this quote

Blessed are those who are privileged to read what they like – Dorothy Green.

Yep.

Sue Bursztynski Gorgeous place. I used to go there to study and research when I was at school, because my school library was fine for novels, but not much else, being the size of a single classroom. I remember the days before they let the light in, which were cosy and lamplit and had their own charm. I still go there for research because in the end, the Net just isn't enough.

Cath Crowley What a gorgeous description - and that's so funny that you mention the light. I was sitting there yesterday wondering about the lamps. What it's like in the dark with just them.

I hadn't ever taken time to read the quotes around the walls before.

It's really something.

Sue Bursztynski It wasn't that dark, really. It was - cosy. There was enough light to read by, but not so much that you gaped at the surroundings instead of reading your book. ;-) I liked it very much and was a little sad when the renovations happened, even though I knew this is how it was meant to be, and it is quite breathtakingly beautiful now we can see all the stuff hidden in the semi-dark.
