Christopher Kulp I just finished Alterra. Great story! I love the science vs. religion theme.

Glad you liked it! I'm curious about the experience of people who read The Other first. Is it interesting to see all the "source material" for the background history in The Other? How do you feel the experience was reading them in that order?

Christopher Kulp As I concluded Alterra, I thought to myself, "Wow, this feels familiar." So I opened up The Other and saw the map of Asura and realized how it all linked together. I had read The Other months before so I wasn't able to make the link as quickly as if I had read them closer together in time.

I thought it was cool to get a glimpse of the history of Asura. I think I like the order I read it more than if I had read it the other way around. It allowed me to appreciate the events in Alterra better.

I wish I had realized the link earlier. I may have to re-read The Other now.
