Ack…sorry, guys. I didn't mean it's damaging, just emotional.
Lois isn't going anywhere.
I feel like DC Comics has ripped my heart out and stomped on it multiple times when it comes to Lois over the last 6 months. At this point, I just want someone to write her who cares about her and what she means to people. I feel like she's been thrown out with yesterday's trash. And I still think what DC Comics did to Lois and Clark is un-forgiveable and I still think the excuses for making Clark single again are basically just thinly veiled statements of sexism peddling the altogether offensive and stupid idea that "cool" men aren't committed to one woman. Pushing Lois and Clark apart (particularly since it appears to have been to put Clark with other women) was a terrible, sexist choice on the part of DC Comics that sent a terrible message about what DC's views are on women, commitment, marriage and the importance of an iconic woman like Lois in the Superman narrative.
But I do trust Lois in Gail's hands. I do. It's more that the choices made for her and for Clark have been pretty terrible lately. So I think a lot of people are just gun shy. But Gail loves Lois. So…hopefully whatever this is will be emotional in a good way.
Yeah…
Like a lot of things, I understand the idea of why they decided to do it, but it's still quite an ache when I think about Lois and Clark not being married. When I wrote Action, it was absolutely THE most fun part of the book, those two together.
There are several things I miss terribly from the previous DCU, but it's still early days. Hopefully new stuff will let more sunshine in.
