The light from the hall briefly illuminates the black satin sheets of his bed before I shut myself inside.
My heart races as I take a step toward his bed. My feet make a quiet *shushing* noise as I shuffle across the hardwood floor. Tobias isn't one for extravagance and keeps his room minimally furnished. Like the man himself, he doesn't decorate his surroundings with plush carpets and chairs or a fireplace.
He's not soft, nor does he pretend to be.
In the quiet of the room, the sheets rustle, followed by a low growl. “I thought you would hide, little succubus.”
My knees bump up against his bed and, unable to pull words from my tight throat, I stare blindly into the dark.
Hot hands slip against my bare arms, and I shiver at the reminder I'm cold. He pulls me unresisting into his bed, peeling the clothes from my body.
Fiery lips graze the racing pulse in my neck before lifting to my ear. "Do you want me to hurt you?"
I choke in a breath that burns my lungs and nod.
