This was a fairly good book but I was a little disappointed because it was misclassified as 'horror' and I was hoping for something a little tingly for Halloween. If you like psychologically driven books this one might be for you. All the characters seem nuts in different ways.

There were places were the pacing was painfully slow. One felt like grabbing the author and giving him a shake but fortunately things picked up after a while. In addition, some sentences were poorly worded and I suspect the editor was in too much of a hurry.

I was disappointed with the ending. The author could have chosen among various conclusions and unfortunately he chose the most predictable one.

In general this book is readable and reasonably well written. It's not great but it's not bad either. If you like psychological character studies I think you might enjoy it but this is not the sort of book to read for Halloween.
