Don't You Quit!

Over the years, I've had to tell myself, “Don't you dare give up!” Yep, it has been challenging. To reinvent yourself in the midst of a global pandemic, has not been easy for me at all. I used to be known as the Children's Ministry guy. Now I have rebranded myself as the Effective Living guy. Ladies and gentlemen, I must let you know, it has been tiresome at times.

I absolutely love what I do! My new platform has given me a new appreciation for life. In addition to not quitting, I've come to learn you have to have an unwavering faith you can push past any current limiting beliefs. You have to have confidence in yourself that you can take on new opportunities and have the power to get what you want.

As you're reading this blog I want you to encourage you...

If you're tired, you can take a break.
If you're sore, you can decrease the intensity.
If you need help, you can reach out and ask for it.

Just don't give up. Believe me when I say, “You can do this!”

A few years ago, I read, "Success is a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when YOU’RE tired. You quit when the GORILLA IS TIRED!" - Robert Strauss

Stop talking yourself out of your success, my friend. You can do this. Getting back up is hard when you talk yourself down. Frustration towards yourself feeds itself. Please start learning how to use uplifting words to motivate yourself. You gotta keep on keeping on!

You need to know that your choices don't define you. Your choices are the choices you made based on what you knew. Let me share with you what I tell myself.

I made the best decision I could, based on what I knew in that moment. When I know more, I do more. When I know better, I do better. I'm going to love me in every moment of my journey.

Hey, that statement is a life changer. That self-talk sets free the judgement, guilt, and shame surrounding the decisions you've made. It is gentle correction and a positive way to love yourself through your learning process.

You must free yourself from any regret or shame for yourself and others in order to begin living in your light. Don't you dare quit! Don't you dare give up!

Today I want to give a shout out to all the strong, patient, powerful, courageous, bold, forgiving, loving, sacrificing, and uplifting gladiators in this world who are rising up and being change agents!!! Individuals who are deciding never to quit!!!
