The Burden and the Joy. Oct. 25
Throughout my 5+ years of being a professional author, over 17+ professionals and artists have been hired as contributors for my books.
The artists, language translators and audio book producers were financially paid for their contributions. And the ones who wrote the Foreword for my novels were given complimentary books and goodies as a Thank You for their introductions to my work.
And I have used 48+ real life people as characters on the pages of my 9 novels.
And it is a JOY to have others work for me!
They bring so much creative content to my work. These skilled professionals add an additional spark to the text. And I am so appreciative of all this local talent!
But let me tell you about the BURDEN to have others work for me!
I might have to push back deadlines because I am waiting on others to finish their assigned tasks. I may not have the same vision as the contributor and may have separate thoughts on the book's direction. And I have to give up a piece of my budget to sign on contributors for my books.
Everything that is worth pursuing comes with a few negatives. And you have to decide for yourself if moving forward - with the hassle, the joy, the stress, the excitement - is worth it to you.
You have to see the positive and appreciate the supporters and the contributors to your success. Without my fans, my readers, my followers and my team...I wouldn't be the Author I am today! And no matter what, I love you all!
