The Friday Five!

1. Today is Laurie Halse Anderson's birthday. Not ONLY is she the author of Speak, Wintergirls, and so many other great books, but she is also a really cool person. I can attest to this as I have been lucky enough several times to do events with her, most recently in Chicago this summer. Laurie also writes children's books, and her most recent, The Hair of Zoe Fleefenbacher Goes to School, is in the running to be in a Cheerios box giveaway next year. Right now, though, Zoe's kind of lagging. ...
