A year and a day after we first got married, first performed our handfasting ceremony on Skye, we renewed it, tied our hands together, repeated our vows, bled as one. We held torches into the night sky, just like our wedding, and let burn any ache that may have come. A year and a day from yesterday, we will do it again, and on and on. Promising each year, choosing each year, to be bound as one thing. I will keep choosing you, m’dear. Tha mi mionnaichte dhùt.
Tied my hand to yours,
shared blood, hope, and promises.
I am bound to you.
