Summers has a long history of refusing to recognize that the existing unequal distribution of wealth is the result of real, UPWARD redistribution, on a scale much larger than anything proposed by the left in the opposite direction. The overwhelming bulk of the top 1%'s wealth results from economic rents on artificial property rights and artificial scarcities, along with direct state subsidies.
